Local Teacher and Mother has launched a debut Young Adult Fantasy for Reluctant Readers
Cast yourself into magic, mystery, and mythology in Olympia, Washington, where monsters live in a seemingly quaint little town…and sixteen year old wizard, David Finkleman always seems to be at the heart of the mayhem!”

Olympia, WA—Local teacher, Mary Drewry of Rochester, WA and her mother, local author, Patrica (PB) Azeltine has debuted their young adult fantasy “Monster Night” in the Monster Series.  Monster Night is fast-pace, full of adventure, mystery, and humor, and has a main character most kids can relate to, despite his magical abilities.  When a drug surfaces in town that turns teens into mythological creatures of the chupacabra, David Finkleman is recruited for his magical skills.  Why?  David’s grandfather is the lead FBI agent on the case and a wizard himself.  But when David’s grandfather has a heart attack, he finds his abilities are too weak and calls David in for help.  David is thrust into a world of danger and monsters he never knew existed.  Things get worse when David learns he has to save the very bullies who torture him at school, and a Chemistry teacher who wants to flunk him!  Plus, now he’s dealing with girl troubles, a boss who doesn’t like him, parent problems, his perfect older brother, and hiding bigger secrets from his best friend.  Oh, and while going to high school and keeping his grades up, he must also save an agents’ life before it’s too late…no pressure!

Mary and Patricia make the perfect combination to write for middle-grade, young adult, and reluctant readers.  Patricia has twenty-three years of writing experience and with four books published by Avalon (now Amazon), one in Manga by Emerald Comics, three in Indie and two more coming soon on her resume; Mary is a professionally certified teacher in special education and elementary education, with an endorsement in reading; and both are avid readers.  With Mary’s knowledge of young people’s reading needs and skills and Patricia’s industry knowledge, and both with vivid imaginations they will have many Monster books in this series to come that will not only entertain, but will motivate readers, and develop reading skills.  “Monster Night” has averaged a 4.5 star review on the Reading Addiction Blog Tour and a 4.0 star review on Amazon.  It was a great read and I think you all should go check it out.”—Pixie Dust Book Review.  “I think the authors did an amazing job of keeping this one light and fun while dealing with the darker elements.”—Author Ever Leigh.  It’s a quick and fun read that even some middle grade kids will enjoy.”—Andi’s Young Adult Book Review.
